A double peony tulip in full bloom photographed from slightly above in an Atlanta garden bed. The flower displays multiple layers of soft blush-pink and cream-white petals arranged in a lush, ruffled form reminiscent of a peony, with golden-yellow stamens and pistils visible at the open center. Outer petals show deeper pink blush at their edges and tips, while inner petals grade to near-white. A small secondary bud emerges at the base of the main bloom on the left side of the stem. The sturdy green stem rises from broad, glaucous blue-green tulip foliage with a slight waxy sheen. The flower grows directly in rich, dark brown garden soil with a few wood chip mulch fragments scattered nearby. Another tulip bud in the upper right corner of the frame is still tightly closed. Bright sunlight catches the petals from the upper left, casting soft shadows across the bloom and soil. Shallow depth of field keeps the focal flower sharp while surrounding foliage blurs softly.
Peony-flowered tulips opening in the front yard. Planted these last fall and they did not disappoint.

Tried my first Ayote Green Flesh squash. Roasted with a touch of butter only. I'm impressed! It's not as sweet as the yellow squashes and that said, it has a really nice flavor. Nice soft texture also. Would be really good with savory herbs
