It's #BirlingDay, when we fly a Sussex-dwelling, Talisker whisky-loving grumpy millionaire (Mr Birling) to a Six Nations Rugby Union match, this year France v England at the Stade de France in Paris, & the teetotal First Officer attempts to purloin the whisky. #MSFS2024 #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek
How it started... A simple plane, made of 3d primitives, bad flight dynamics, bad graphics
....vs how it's going A fighter jet, taking off from a runway, real-world terrain
My flight simulator is now 3 months old!!! I honestly didn't think I'd be able to work on it for so long, normally I stop these projects after a few days or weeks 😅. Thank you so much for your support here on Mastodon and on Bluesky, it helped me to keep […]

There are some great freeware sceneries of RAF bases on flightsim.to, including the newly updated RAF Valley on Anglesey, and RAF Brize Norton. This RAF jet trainer, an Embraer Phenom 100, flies between the two, a super small jet and easy to fly too. #MSFS2024 #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek
...for Rugby fans off to watch France v England tomorrow. It's decent now, but not as smooth or full-featured as the ToLiss A319; some odd system procedures, such as aligning IRS, are different (& more complicated) to ToLiss & Fenix. #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek #XP12 [2/2]

#XP12 for a Cathay Pacific A321 flight (model by ToLiss) from Hong Kong, heading north over Guangdong, Fujian and Zhejiang to to Hangzhou, south-west of Shanghai. #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek Default XPlane scenery, which works just fine if you don't know the airports (& often if you do too!).
A small twin-engine private jet with a white fuselage, dark blue tail, and red accent stripe is in flight, positioned slightly left of center. The aircraft flies low, its nose angled slightly upward, suggesting steady navigation. It moves across a vast landscape defined by a complex network of winding rivers that reflect sunlight into a bright, shimmering ribbon. The sky is clear and deep blue, with the sun high in the sky creating a pronounced lens flare. Below, the terrain is predominantly brown and arid, interspersed with clusters of green vegetation, while distant horizons blend into a hazy line. The plane’s tail displays the letters TMC in dark text against the light background. The scene depicts a serene aerial journey over a delta-like region under a bright, clear day.
A small airplane with a white fuselage, dark tail, and extended landing gear is descending toward a coastal area. Below, a long sandy beach curves along the edge of a deep blue ocean, bordered by dense green forests and scattered residential neighborhoods. The landscape features numerous small lakes and winding waterways, with flat terrain extending into the distance under a clear, bright blue sky. The aircraft is positioned centrally above the coastline, with its landing gear lowered, indicating preparation for landing near the populated shoreline. The scene captures a smooth approach to land over a mix of natural and developed areas, with the ocean on one side and the horizon visible under a cloudless sky. The terrain below includes patches of developed land, forested regions, and small bodies of water, all under a vast expanse of clear blue sky.
A small white single-engine airplane flies low over a coastal landscape. Below, a sandy beach curves along the ocean’s edge, bordered by a strip of residential neighborhoods with red-tiled roofs. To the left, dense green forests and scattered waterways, including a winding river, stretch toward the horizon. Interconnected roads and patches of developed land with houses and parks are visible. In the distance, the ocean meets the sky under a clear blue atmosphere. The scene captures a sunny day with the plane positioned centrally, moving over a mix of natural and human-made environments.
Inside an aircraft cockpit, the main display panels show active flight instruments and navigation data. Three primary screens dominate the panel: the left screen features an attitude indicator with a heading of 319 degrees, a glide slope indicator, and altitude information; the central screen displays a map with green terrain, blue water bodies, and navigation details including Approach - KCRG-ILS-32 and Active Nav; the right screen mirrors the left with similar metrics. Knobs and switches on the panel are labeled with functions like HDG, ALT SEL, CRS, and D-MJXY is visible near the top. Outside the cockpit, the windshield reveals a clear view of a landscape with suburban residential areas, industrial buildings, a large runway, and multiple bodies of water under a bright sky. The aircraft is approaching a landing, as indicated by the navigation data and runway alignment.

A striking image of a F-14 Tomcat engulfed in flames and a long trail of fire behind it, surrounded by darkness. The aircraft is missing its right wing and is headed to the pitch black sea below.
On the front a UH-1 Huey hovers. While a AH-64 Apache has landed on some grass a little further away with its rotor spinning, a big dust ring is being kicked up by the Apache.
Shot of an Apache helicopter flying above a town that stretches from the bottom left to the top right. It’s a little cloudy and tending towards dusk. A Chinook can be seen at the top left circling the same area.
Close up of the Chinook from before a bit later, with smoke pouring out of the aircraft but still flying. A vehicle is on fire on the ground below.

A small white turboprop aircraft flies low over an urban area during twilight. Its landing lights illuminate the dark terrain below, which is dotted with numerous city lights from buildings and streets. The sky above is darkening, with heavy clouds partially obscuring a faint orange and red sunset near the horizon. The aircraft's nose is slightly angled upward, and its wings extend outward with visible engine nacelles. Below, the landscape shows a mix of illuminated urban zones and darker rural areas, with faint light trails suggesting highways or rail lines. The overall scene conveys nighttime flight with a dramatic sky contrasting the artificial lights of the city and the natural twilight hues.
A white commercial airplane is in flight during nighttime, viewed from outside. The aircraft’s nose and cockpit window are prominent, with an interior screen visible through the glass. The plane’s fuselage displays printed text including “Worldwide Services” and “Synchronizing the World of C(ommerce)” along with an “EMERGENCY EXIT” label. The aircraft is moving above a dark landscape where scattered city lights illuminate urban areas, with a vast expanse of water visible in the distance under a starry sky filled with dark clouds. The scene depicts the plane traveling over land and ocean at night, with the horizon line separating the illuminated city below from the night sky above. The sky shows a mix of deep blues and darker cloud formations, while the ground features patches of light from populated regions and darker, undeveloped areas.
Aircraft cockpit interior with a darkened cabin, featuring an array of illuminated instruments and digital displays. The windshield reveals a panoramic view of a landscape under a dusky sky, where the horizon transitions from warm orange to deep pink to muted blue. The cockpit’s primary controls include a central panel with multiple screens showing navigational data and system status. Visible text on the displays includes "BARO", "ALT", "VOLT", "EXT PWR", "D-MJXY", and numerical values such as "318-19", "2180", "1600", "1780", "2125". The windshield wipers are stationary, and the exterior terrain features a network of winding roads or rivers beneath the fading daylight. The overall scene captures a moment of calm during sunset, with the cockpit’s interior lighting casting a soft glow on the instrument panel and surrounding components. The cockpit remains stationary, offering a serene view of the earth below as the sky darkens.
A small twin-engine propeller aircraft flies low over a coastal landscape during sunrise, its silver fuselage and wings visible against the sky with both propellers spinning rapidly. Below, a vast plain stretches toward the ocean, marked by intricate, winding waterways that cut through dark terrain. The horizon reveals a distant sun setting, emitting vibrant orange and pink light that blends into a deep blue sky. Wispy clouds near the horizon catch the sunlight, creating a soft glow. The land features patchwork fields and dense clusters of trees, while the waterways reflect the sunset’s warm hues. In the distance, the ocean meets the sky, forming a seamless line where the sun dips below the horizon. The aircraft’s position and altitude suggest it’s navigating over the intricate network of rivers and estuaries.
