The next wood I am running through the Oliver 8" helical head jointer is a piece of 4/4 white oak. The board had a fairly straight edge, but that edge was extremely rough. After a couple passes I had a perfect 90 degree edge.

Just some shop sounds of peeling the plastic off of the cast-iron parts on this new Oliver 4235.230 8" jointer. I’m going to get this wiped down and then get it coated with some Carbon Method to keep the cast iron from resting and to keep it nice.

I had a problem getting the Oliver 8" jointer off the pallet. It was pretty tall and the jointer weighs about 350 pounds and you shouldn’t lift it by tables. We rolled it down a ramp of 3/4” plywood. A big thanks to my son Carter for helping.
