Starflowers (Ipheion uniflorum) are small, translucent blue flowers with bluish-purple stripes and sometimes bluish-purple edges that often grow in clumps. Their funnel-shaped centers hold 3-5 stamen with golden anthers and their leaves look like long blades of grass. An early spring flower, they are short-lived - as the days get progressively warmer, these beauties die off until the next spring.
Starflowers (Ipheion uniflorum), translucent pale blue flowers, arrive in the spring after the daffodils and spring snowflakes depart. These popped up a few days ago.
