Digital painting study of a metal sphere, with vibrant colours added. I used an image of a metal sphere as a direct reference, although that reference had a lot less colour. The sphere sits on a turquoise ground plane, with a subtle pink-purple-peach gradient in the background.

Reference for my material study painting. A silver metal sphere sits in a white void, casting a shadow on the bottom. It strongly reflects the light directed towards it, and there are subtle colours seen in the reflections.

Man, turns out trying to paint metal as a sphere is super challenging?! I'd like to revisit this later on, but I still had fun! Looking forward to doing more of these with different materials - especially ones of faux fur and crystal!
