Game rules and an example of Voronoi capture the flag. The text reads:

VORONOI CAPTURE THE FLAG
A strategic battle of zones, distance, and daring.

Objective:
Stake your claim. Divide the field. Capture the majority. Outplay your rival on a 10×10 grid of pure potential.

HOW TO PLAY
1. Enter the Arena
Players take turns selecting 3 grid squares each, one at a time. These are your flags—your anchors of influence.

2. Claim Your Territory
Once all 6 flags are placed, the entire grid fractures into regions using Voronoi tessellation—each square is assigned to the closest flag, measured by Euclidean distance.

3. Neutral Ground
If a square is exactly equidistant between flags from opposing players, it becomes neutral—nobody owns it.

4. Victory Conditions
When the dust settles, count your territory. Whoever controls more squares wins. Simple. Ruthless. Elegant.

TIPS FOR DOMINANCE
Control the center. It’s the heart of the board.

Spread out. Too clustered, and you lose reach.

Think geometrically. Every flag changes the balance.

Introducing a new game: Voronoi capture the flag!

A fun game for a long train ride.

Also a good game to teach #pythag for distance between two points or for perpendicular bisectors.

#link-abet.

Can you create a set of mechanical linkages to write a letter of the alphabet.

Rules: must be driven by A=(0,t) with 0<t<1

I think this is the best letter 'e' I can do after an evening of playing around. See if you can do better!

The photograph show a set of bowling skittle made out of toilet roll tubes, with cardboard polar bear faces stuck to the top. The skittles have numbers on the front, and some of them have fallen over. There is a big yellow ball in front of the skittles.
