#Pgbackrest does not support HTTP proxies (in its #s3 client). This was raised on Github couple of times.
Suggested workaround is to use #proxychains.
Discovering you need to slap some extra component into a critical path of a critical workflow is exciting...

I finally managed to get #pgBackRest running for my #PostgreSQL #Patroni cluster to make two independent local backups of both the primary and the replica database cluster. The important part is that pgbackrest running on the replica has to be able to connect to the primary.

- spin up a fresh set of VMs with #vagrant
- provision in read-only mode with #ansible
- restore DB from #encrypted backup using #pgbackrest
- login as user and check backup is < X minutes old
Backups you don't cont. test are wishful thinking 💭
