The chicks were all over mum F24 when she delivered breakfast a little later than they liked. They needed no help devouring every last morsel and then gave mum the heave-ho when she stopped by for leftovers. 😅

#Shadow & #Jackie each visited the nest. Shadow brought 2 sticks; Jackie followed later to inspect the still messy nest. It’s pre-season, so every visit is a gift. They met on the Roost Tree to spend the night.

#Cholyn&Chase are shoring up the rails of the original nest, bringing in endless massive branches. Disagreements about what should go where are quickly resolved. Beautiful chortles at the end.

When Lady brought a fish, SE36 pounced on the chance to grab it & ate most. Lady returned & took the tail, which SE35 grabbed. Everyone content. Stunning close-ups at the end.

On their morning walk, one chick found a most fascinating feather, which kept it occupied for some time. The other two chicks were spellbound… complete with knee-weakening head tilts.

After a mostly calm night, 11-week-old SE35 & SE36 had a much calmer morning. While SE35 quickly grabbed the first two meals, both eaglets got good feedings and spent time near each other with no aggression.

The Sydney #White-BelliedSeaEagle SE35 returned to nest. It wasn't a happy occasion for sibling SE36, who was repeatedly attacked by the returnee. The good news is that SE36 wasn't harmed or pushed from the nest.

The chicks are on the move from one side of the ledge to the other: gutter stomps, food fights, and uncontrolled wingercises. They're 4 weeks old and their next growth phase will pass with lightening speed.

#Cholyn&Chase worked on the nest today. Cholyn as eagle-eyed building inspector, Chase as branch manager. There were some beaky disagreements about what went where.
Must see: minutes 17 and 20.

After a 2-week absence, #Jackie&Shadow paid a visit. Jackie's head smudge is back, while Shadow’s coif is pure white. They saw that no one tidied the nest while they were gone, but shrugged it off.

The wee boy chick finally decided to join his sisters in the north nest after biding his time in the gutter for a week. A sister duvet was just too compelling tonight.

A lesson in collaboration, compromise, communication… and absolute perfection. 23-1/2 minutes of poetry in motion also known as #Cholyn&Chase. 27 years young and 22 years blissfully paired.

#Akecheta & Haku roosted on the same perch overnight for the first time. They greeted the dawn with long, glorious chortles and then settled atop the far TOR on a sparkling blue sky, blue sea morning.

Gimbir made an early wake-up visit, but didn't heed Diamond's breakfast order. He came through later, but dashed out. Breakfast was delayed again until he returned to incubate. Learning slowly.

Yesterday was one for the memory treasure chest. SE35 & SE36 perched on the nest rim, SE36 “hugged” SE35 in the nest & also performed an horaltic pose. The family came together in the p.m.

The chicks got fed up with the sun and ventured to the shade. There was a frantic hour or so with Mum trying to brood the chicks still in the nest & those who’d escaped. Eventually she accepted the inevitable and relaxed.

Arguably the most entertaining falcon chicks feeding ever. When Mum F24 brought another meal, the chicks’ crops were already bulging. But F24 was determined to feed them, regardless of their repeated food comas.

At 10, 11, and 12 days old, the chicks are grabbing for food with more gusto and trying to do a little self-feeding. In 2 weeks time, F24 and M24 will be challenged to hold onto the prey long enough to feed them. 🦖

One chick snoozed too close to the edge of the nest and slipped into the gutter. While the chick didn’t mind its new location, Mum F24 certainly did upon her return. A gentle grab by the scruff of the neck got it back to the nest.

Bob wants to be Haku’s BFF, so he perched as near as he dared. She was OK with it, except once when she wing slapped him. Bob is too young to be looking for a mate, so we'll see how this friendship goes.

When Dad M24 arrived with prey, Mum F24 was out. So he did what any super responsible dad would do: he tried to feed his chicks. Trouble is, the prey was bigger than the chicks. F24 returned & straightened him out.

Diamond laid her and Gimbir's second egg 59-1/2 hours after the first. Her typical laying interval is between 50 and 60 hours. Congrats, Diamond and Gimbir!

Chick #2 snuck out in the dark of night, but dawn provided a grand entrance for the wee one. Chick #1 was so excited they rolled out of the nest box. Mum F24 eventually rolled them back in. One more hatch to go.🐣
