BI and Analytics with SQL Server and R - Tomaz Kastrun This one-day pre-con is for Data Analyst and business people who would like to learn more on SQL Server and R integration, what R has to offer and what are practices for creating the environment to start working on statistics and predictive analytics. It will be demo based and users will be able to play along. It is encouraging to bring your own laptop and code along. You will need a laptop running SQL Server 2016 (Enterprise or Developer edition) and Visual studio 2015 Community edition (with RTVS installed). Script will be available upon session; datasets will be distributed on session (Adventureworks/WideWorldsImporters/Sales or CRM data). Participants will walk away with understanding how R in SQL Server works, basic knowledge on R Language, manipulating data with R packages, methods and algorithms for statistical analysis, predictive analytics available in RevoscaleR package and visualizing data. Materials will be handed as R and T-SQL Code and PPT Slides. Breaks and lunch will be defined by organizers and later agreed with group of participants. Maximum number of participants is decided by organizer.
