A Screenshot from The Elder Scrolls II Daggerfall. The view is from the top of a green grass hill, there are various tress and flowers around, all rendered via 2D forward facing sprites. In the distance, at the bottom of the hill is the city of Wayrest, the buildings are rendered in 3D while most the scenery uses 2D sprites. In the far distance is a pixelated mountain with thick fog obscuring the bottom and silhouetted trees at the top. This distance is a 2D flat skybox texture. The sky, a part of the mountain texture, is a warm orange colour.
A Screenshot from The Elder Scrolls II Daggerfall. It depicts Sentinel palace, a beautiful palace with a middle eastern style. It's rendered with simple 3D shapes with pixelated textures.
A Screenshot from The Elder Scrolls II Daggerfall. It depicts Daggerfall castle, a fortified English European style castle built from grey stones. The castle is rendered with simple 3D shapes and detailed with pixelated textures. There is a moat around the castle with a simple stone path leading into and through the gatehouse. The stone path is blurry due to the low resolution of the pixel art that details it.
Despite being 29 years old, #TheElderScrolls II #Daggerfall is a really beautiful looking game. It's amazing what @bethesdastudios.com were able to pull off when making Daggerfall. It blows my mind that this game is over a quarter of a century old!
