They're probably afraid of retaliation by Trump and want to stay in office. Why they're taking a stand on this specific legislation, who knows? If their states had #openprimaries they might act differently.

One of the scariest aspects of this is that folks will still say (and believe) that voting doesn't matter. Only 7% of voters put nearly 87% of these ppl in these House seats! The #biguglybill: brought to America by low voter turnout. #theprimaryproblem
