Finished out #FirstDraftFall strong! The goal was 120,000, but I reached 166,933. Still working my way through #writecember, but I'm at halfway before the middle of the month, so the odds are good. The goal for November and December was 170,000 but that's going to get surpassed. I'm proud of myself!

oooh my favorite kind of plot twist is one that then makes u think of all the little details and hints that happened before that then leads everything to fall into place perfectly and u realize that despite the surprise, it couldnt have happened in any other way

hmm i would say 'awe' or 'appreciation' because astrava is a country of three states with their own sort of cultures and aniz and her group travel thru each state at least a little bit during their adventure

Tbh, I simply wanted a place that would feel new to me in both my settings. For both ILYTD and TVP, I wanted to make a setting that would fit the nature of the plot and make sense for the characters, but would also feel unique and original in its own way. I hope I managed that.🙂

Once again, it was heavily inspired by Tales 😅 Balaricio is heavily inspired by Asgard in Tales of Symphonia, while Drasel was inspired by Toltus in Phantasia and the forest near it. Zodula’s Tower of Luphos was inspired by the Tower of the Zodiac, but without the music puzzles.

I mostly took inspiration from westerns, but I won't lie that those aren't already influenced heavily by my love of Firefly and sci-fi settings like Total Recall. And a fair bit of historical documentaries my mother made me watch on Cowboys and the territorial disputes.

My current plan for Anacleto, when all is said and done with the story, is to have him return to his family's land with Saif. This could change drastically as I actually work out the specifics of what happens in the middle part of the story, but I want Anacleto to live long.

I used to read alternate history stories quite a bit. The structures used made me think a lot about an alternate future with Pacifica. I wrote a timeline of events that led to it, though it's not currently planned to be reader-facing info. Possible prequel, now that I think on it.
