I got laid off from my day job this week so if you know anyone who is looking for a cool and awesome senior full-stack software engineer/team lead with tons of experience who also writes comics and has no trace of poster’s madness, let me know! Please!
Got job search advice? Hit me!
Open for work! 18 years experience in AAA games film/tv. What have I worked on? 6 Assassin's Creed games, Marvel MCU shows and films, Magic the Gathering cards, shorter stints on franchises like Deus Ex, Halo, Paths of Exile, Ghost in the Shell, Pirates of the Caribbean and many more.
Ach du grüne ... 🤞
I don‘t know what to say except: that was beyond inappropriate and I hope it has consequences for him. 🫂
Seems like one day it will be the exception to the rule to give actual writers a chance and contract. Maybe even to some that aren't already famous and bestselling, but unknown ones. Yes, I'm annoyed. No, I have nothing against the mentioned persons.

Dito. Weshalb ich NutzerInnen von Over-Ear Kopfhörern manchmal ungläubig betrachte. Was waren wir damals froh, die klobigen Dinger gegen viel kleinere In-Ears austauschen zu können. 😄
Is Abuela toxic… or not?
Still waiting for my Fairy Godmother. But a genie would grant me three wishes instead of one. Hm...

You just reminded me of a book about some of her letters on my pile of shame. Maybe I should read it soon. 😬

"Free Guy" is a funny, weird and entertaining film. The irony is: the artificial intelligence of this story gives human viewers a lesson in independent thinking.

Dog. For me an underrated film. There‘s no boom, pow or surprising plot twists, but many quiet tones and in its core the story about an Army Ranger and military dog, both traumatized. It shows how—beside heroism—the lifes of military members worldwide can really look like.

And now: A Knight‘s Tale. 🍿

I‘ve just watched “American Fiction“. What a film. Touching, funny, earnest, ironic. But that scene, where Monk writes and talks with his fictional characters about the right wording… 🤣 I wish, writing was that kind of fun in real life. Watch it if you can.

Random people ask me
-for directions
-items in a shop
-to reach them goods from a high shelf
-which subway line they should take
-or ticket is needed, to go to station x.
Yesterday I was asked to pick something from the floor. Today for the price of a good. No, I don't know why either. 🤦♀️

Oh, another question was, why I don't let an genAI write my stories.
a) Because that's not writing.
b) I prefer to use my own brain.
c) Not even when hell freezes over.

I was asked today, why I'm not publishing my novels (Again. The next time I'll search for a hidden camera).
To be honest... I'm not sure if I'm ready for the walk of rejection, because I don't think the publishers will scramble for the right to publish them.

A hardcover notebook with mint colored cover. A panda bear sits in the middle of it, its back is turned to the viewer. Below is written: I think too much.
May I introduce? My new notebook. (A perfect match for me, because I really think too much.)

The scent for my current project would be a combination of forest/moss, camp fire and oven fresh bread. I‘m curious about the result. 😄

This evening's dinner:
Butter rice with pulled chicken breast... a simple and so yummy comfort food. 😋

I'm just hand washing some gloves that I've bought last week in winter sale, because you can never know if the colors bleed. Hoo boy, the washing water was gray afterwards. Not because of color bleeding, but of the dirt in the fabric.

I remembered this quote several times in the last few days and really hope my presentiments don't come true.
»It's the deep breath before the plunge.«

And sometimes you skip (1), to go directly to (2). 😅

Frodo: »I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.«
Gandalf: »So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.«

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 119:
Villains can be fun to write. But historically, portrayals of villainy have also been filled with stereotypes. Your villain isn't a villain because they're ugly, or from a different race, or disabled, or mentally ill. They're a villain because of their choices.
No dark chocolate? 🙁
P2: *rolls up his sleeves, little lightnings flicker around his hands* Let me show our angel why my story comes first. Me: It doesn't!
P1: I'm no angel!
P2: Right. I forgot, a*shol–
Me: Stop it or I'll continue revising the trilogy.
P3: *bows contentedly his head* Always a pleasure. 2/2

How the protas of my next projects would argue about, whose story is the next one to be written:
P1: Mom!
Me: *winces*
P1: MOOOOM!
Me: Yes? 😬
P1: Tell this b*stard–
Me: Hey, guard your tongue!
P1: *surprised* But you drafted him as one.
Me: That's irrelevant. 1/2
