I have been far too busy protesting organizing to save democracy to spend any time in my new garden in my new state. Hoping to have time to get to work and plant some of these this spring. And fuck MAGA.

It's odd, right? In my neighborhood we were able to influence so many neighbors to plant at least a few natives. And we were always sharing volunteers, seeds, and help to newbies.
Every time I see his lovely photos I am always surprised to not see one other yard with a single native plant.

This is Renee Good greeting her executioner moments before he shot three bullets into her face. And 'moment of confrontation'? What confrontation?? I am gutted by all of this.

I've learned more about bees from this Bumble Bee Atlas video, than any other video I've watched or class I've taken. Educational and fascinating. #nativeplants #nativebees

it is lovely to meander through nature and notice so much beauty in trees even as they decompose.

I love the cheery feeling I get when observing what's happening in my garden. It is welcome relief to see nature carry on. The various mountain mints in my yard are the pollinator favorites. The Ironweed is usually loaded with small butterflies and moths. #nativeplants

HOA here too. They loaded me up on violations for this garden and put me through hell for nearly a year before finally approving it. In a development that got county approval as a sustainable neighborhood. All lies. They really only want sod, Chinese fringeflower, and liriope in every yard.

Thank you and I love the bees! All the insects that my native plants have attracted made me wish I could do it all over and be an entomologist.

Thank you, this is beautiful! I'm currently in North Carolina, where are you?

To clarify - the hopelessness is twofold: one is that this small garden isn't making enough of a difference (I know it makes a difference to each critter that uses it, but you know what I mean) and two, the greedy, mean, selfish, hate-filled people are destroying our already fragile democracy.

Please comment with photos of your native garden. I’m not giving up, but It’s all feeling so hopeless. #nativeplants #solidarity #fightfascism

I feel like I'm there in the one on the right. I can hear the water and really want to climb and see what it looks like at the source up there. The other one is a nice photograph. Would love to read your thoughts.

The Fragaria Virginian / Wild strawberry sparkles after every rain. Which we have had a lot of here in Chatham county, NC, lately.
