we keep having power outages in our area, clear days/nights, no lightning or wind - starts with ALL street lights going out, then the homes - they've replaced 1 transformer, didn't help - they own the lines/streetlights, they just keep charging more for crappy infrastructure

That's totally amazing (looking @ you #ReliantEnergy #CenterpointEnergy)

.....but could this technology also be adapted as a cleaner alternative to fracking (which I wish could be banned but if greedy idiots will continue to do it, could it be a way to harm the environment (& us) less?)

SSRIs, Media Suppression & Pizza Episode 201 hosted by Kraig Delaney, recorded live on September 2, 2025, which primarily discusses political and social issues alongside segments on sports and culinary history. The podcast criticizes Democratic-led city mayors for rejecting President Trump's offers of federal assistance to combat crime, arguing they prioritize politics over public safety and mismanage existing federal funds. It further examines a recent school shooting in Minneapolis committed by Robin Westman, focusing on the shooter's transgender identity, alleged use of SSRIs, and the suppression of their manifesto by media, drawing parallels to other mass shootings involving transgender individuals. Additionally, the episode touches on topics like Paul Pelosi's PPP loan controversy, local outrage over CenterPoint Energy bill hikes in Evansville, Indiana, a brief sports history segment on Wilma Rudolph, and an exploration of pizza's origins and regional variations. www.buymeacoffee.com/infosoapboW Leave a voicemail: 812-610-9005 Email the podcast:  info.soapboxchampion@gmail.com Music: https://www.bensound.com License code: QRSYBHJMDYFD3HGW RSS https://www.spreaker.com/show/5142746/episodes/feed

CenterPoint Energy Moves Large Emergency Generation Units to San Antonio to Improve Reliability for Houston Electric Customers - Cozzy Energy Solutions Texas-based utility company CenterPoint Energy is taking steps to make its Houston electric customers even more cost-effective and reliable. The company has proposed a plan that includes relocating large emergency generation units from other parts of the state to San Antonio. These units, ranging in size from 27MW to 32MW, will play a crucial role in powering approximately 30,000 homes each. By moving them to the San Antonio area, CenterPoint Energy aims to improve the overall reliability of its grid and provide better protection against power outages. According to the company, this relocation effort is expected to save average residential customers who use around 1,000 kWh per month up to $2 per month by 2027. This is a significant reduction in costs that will benefit Houston Electric customers across the board. CenterPoint Energy has been working tirelessly to strengthen its grid and prepare for the upcoming hurricane season, which begins on June 1, 2025. The proposal is part of the company's broader efforts to improve reliability, reduce costs, and provide a safer and more resilient energy infrastructure for its customers. In the coming months, CenterPoint Energy plans to implement the cost reduction changes for its Houston Electric customers, with the costs associated with the leased emergency generation units set to come out of their rates. This will help ensure that customers see real savings on their bills while also benefiting from a more reliable and secure energy supply.

CenterPoint Energy Leases Emergency Generation Units to ERCOT for Up to Two Years - Cozzy Energy Solutions CenterPoint Energy, Inc., listed on the NYSE as CNP, has made a significant commitment to ensuring the reliable electricity supply in Texas by leasing its large emergency generation units to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) for up to two years. As a leading energy delivery company, CenterPoint Energy operates in multiple states, with a substantial presence in the Lone Star State where it serves over 2 million customers. By partnering with ERCOT, the company is taking proactive steps to prevent potential shortfalls and maintain a stable power grid in the San Antonio region. This strategic move aims to provide critical generation capacity during periods of high demand, thereby ensuring a reliable electricity supply for consumers. CenterPoint Energy's decision not to charge its customers for these units during this period demonstrates the company's commitment to supporting the energy needs of its customers. While the initial lease agreement is in place for two years at no cost to ERCOT or consumers, the company may explore future market opportunities, including sub-leasing its emergency generation units to third-party providers. This could provide additional revenue streams for CenterPoint Energy while maintaining the reliability of the Texas power grid. By supporting the reliability of the Texas power grid and providing confidence to consumers, CenterPoint Energy's decision is poised to have a positive impact on the energy landscape in the state.

CenterPoint Energy Unveils Emergency Generation Plan to Address Houston Energy Shortfalls - Cozzy Energy Solutions CenterPoint Energy has submitted an emergency generation proposal aimed at addressing regional energy shortfalls in Houston and ensuring stable electricity supply. The plan involves purchasing 15 large-scale emergency units from an unspecified supplier. The proposed arrangement will yield benefits for Houston-area customers, with projected savings reaching approximately $2 per month on average by 2027 for those using 1,000 kWh of electricity each month. In terms of operational logistics, the units are slated to become operational in San Antonio by summer 2025 and will remain active for up to two years. These emergency generation units have a combined power capacity of around 450 megawatts, which can support approximately 30,000 homes, with individual unit capacities ranging between 27 megawatts and 32 megawatts. Interestingly, CenterPoint Energy will not generate revenue or profits from these units during the planned two-year period in ERCOT.

We are always quick to point out when our officials fail us. We should do the same when it’s the opposite: City and utility officials did a good job preparing and responding to this winter storm. You have our family’s thanks. #winterstormenzo #houston #centerpointenergy
