We've been a bit late to the party but researchers are seeking adults with Developmental Language Disorder, dyslexia and autism. As well as those without a neurodevelopmental diagnosis. Details below.

We need more research about DLD in bi/multilingual children. Maryam Awawdeh is doing just that. Surveys for Speech and Language Therapists and families.
Please share and help to increase understanding of Developmental Language Disorder.

watched the Keynote with @karlamcgregor.bsky.social and Paula Orrego at the DLD Project Summit - thank you both, it was so interesting. I loved the way you made the facts come alive - thank you for sharing the stories of impact #DevLangDis
This was a fantastic event, and emphasised the power of bringing people together to talk through common issues, share knowledge as well as the literature.
We hope the outcome will be better practice with resources to support families at the point of DLD diagnosis.

This paper from Jeanne Tighe and Mahchid Namazi outlining the 'SPICES' model for talking with families about their child's DLD diagnosis was discussed at the DLD diagnostic network. Very useful!

Young offenders 'with DLD were more likely to have their behaviour interpreted as non-compliance.'
Which of course has serious implications for them!
This is why we need far greater awareness of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
#DevLangDis
Doing a little reading today and really struck by the increase in research about Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). So good to see.
Really big change from a few years ago.

Testing a bilingual child in both of their languages remains the gold standard for diagnosing DLD. However, results here support the indexing of developmental expectations to measures of L2 experience when testing is constrained to English.

This was an amazing project to be a part of - learning happens SO VERY FAST that it really surprised me... and learning is related to prior knowledge in unexpected ways. Check out how prediction error drives learning! How do you think this would play out for DLD kiddos? #DevLangDis #Verbs #Education
