My son was reading at 3 years old. Being dyslexic, I thought this was normal for kids. Educators said he was just memorizing books. Turns out it's #hyperlexia. He's almost 11 now, and reads incredibly fast, which bumps up against working memory issues and affects comprehension.

Adventures in momming today:
Pretty sure OG daughter has chronic #Lyme. Daughter the sequel salty for not making the #Starbucks order cut. Child the final chapter read all three books I bought them on Thursday, because #hyperlexia is expensive.

Some autistics can read very fast, or very early, and/or in quite unusual styles.

For example, mirror writing & reading/writing upside down are skills sometimes seen in autistics.
