The Double Cluster, also known as Caldwell 14, consists of the open clusters NGC 869 and NGC 884, which are close together in the constellation Perseus. Both visible to the naked eye, NGC 869 and NGC 884 lie at a distance of about 7,500 light-years in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way galaxy.

Just over 4.5 hours of 10 second images of the galaxy cluster Abell 1185 in Ursa Major resulted in many more tiny galaxies in the photo than I expected. All images taken with a #SeeStar S50 and processed with #AstroPixelProcessor and #PixInsight.

The night sky with the constellation Cassiopeia going from top to bottom. Very faintly, the northern Milky Way goes through the constellation. This is a stack of 21 images with 8 darks. The are 30 second images at an ISO of 3200 f/4 Nikon Z5 with a Sigma 105 mm lens. Traced with a MoveShootMove Nomad. It is processed in PixInsight.

The image was a stack of 50 30 second images with a Nikon Z5 at f/4 3200 ISO using a Sigma 105mm lens. The images were tracked with a MoveShootMove Nomad and processed in PixInsight, GraXpert and DarkTable.

PixInsight just added a new step for rejecting frames during the stacking process! My current intake process will filter out obvious things like clouds, but Frame Selection exposed a potential issue with my frames shot during the full moon. Sweet!

Photo of the Pacman Nebula (NGC281). This is a wide-field astrophotography image of a glowing emission nebula floating in a dense star field. At the center is a bright, bluish-white core surrounded by soft clouds of gold, amber, and faint red gas, with dark, jagged dust lanes cutting through the light like silhouettes.
