#PolyglotProblems: I no longer have a consistent mental sort order for countries and languages—in any language 😅

I always expect "Germany" to sort under "D" and "Dutch" to sort under "N" 😂

My brain is extra cronchy today lmao it's taking 84 years for me to process someone speaking to me 😭 it's like my brain is processing it through a cheese grater of different languages in order to get English 💀 writing it is fine lol it's just speaking/hearing it today

Does anyone who pays for Duolingo know if there is an “forget the letters/spelling, I just want to learn to SPEAK the language” option? I don’t want learn to differentiate between Japanese and Chinese characters and Cyrillic and the extra letters in German- etc. I want to speak!! #polyglotproblems

Being bilingual/multilingual is great, but it brings with it some challenges. Like today I've been writing up some SOPs for a client and when I wrote the word "door" it took me a while to be sure it was spelled correctly. Such an odd word! Ditto for "ceiling". #polyglotproblems

My version sounded like some literal translation of "La bambola" with the doll replaced by some kind of disc. #polyglotproblems
