@bellingcat.com produced a Radar Interference Tracker (RIT) tool back in 2022, which uses EU #Copernicus #Sentinel1 data to help identify sources of RFI.
However, this can only detect sources that were active during #Sentinel1 data acquisition.

Very good article on how good #Sentinel1 #changedetection is in #mapping floodwaters. For a flood in Afghanistan, this methodology was able to detect 5 times the area shown by some products in the Global Flood Monitoring System.

#Copernicus #Sentinel1 acquired data over the Somerset Levels on 28th Jan - water shown in darker colours in this enhanced false colour visualisation.
Using this data, and a DEM of the pre-flooding surface, it should be possible for Environment Agency to work out flood depth and hence flood volume.

Changes over a wide area.
#Copernicus #Sentinel1 data is not able to detect changes in some areas due to signal decorrelation, say changes in vegetation / soil moisture.
Through the use of satellite based radar data, say #Copernicus #Sentinel1, and a digital elevation model of the pre-flooding surface, it should be possible for Environment Agency to work out flood depth and hence flood volume.
