Traveled back in time to 1852 today. Every yr, the Gold Rush town comes back to life for four days. 200 or so ppl dress up & enact a character from the Era. So much fun

Photograph of the "DATE DUE" pocket on the inside of a library book. There are 31 dates stamped on the pocket. The date stamps begin March 24, '78 and end at April 19, '85. Another date follows that but is illegible. These used to be inside of most library books in the U.S. but very few public libraries use them anymore, opting instead for printed due date receipts and online records of patrons' current checkouts. Little details such as this were always fun to find when I was working in the public library system.

Date stamps in library books are an interesting and functional record of time. I kind of miss those in newer books.

I watched this barn on the Olympic Peninsula slowly collapse over a period of years. I imagine the ruins are still there.
