I think this is a good size for the cuff. There will be button holes for silver cufflinks, cut horizontally below the embroidery.
I did a whole mass of embroidery these yesterday and today, I'm very very pleased with this progress!

A photo of whitework embroidery in a round wooden frame. There's beginning satin stitch blocks in it, as well as a horizontal and vertical centre line basted with black thread running through the fabric piece. Underneath is a charted embroidery pattern.
I've framed up the actual fabric, after marking the center lines with basting thread. I'm starting with the kloster blocks. I don't know how big the cuffs are supposed to be. I guess I can decide myself 🤷♀️
The kloster blocks stitch up so quickly. Really fascinating.

Next project I'm giving a go... stumpwork! It's a really weird name for what is basically 3D embroidery. I'm excited to try it out with this kit I bought!

Samples of 17thC Portuguese whitework, including cutwork, drawn work, embroidery, and needle lace. Although there are extant examples of whitework from the 16thC on, it became enormously popular in 1620-1670.
