A wet & blustery walk today in the local park. Noticed this tree & plaque planted by the Duchess of Albany at the opening of the park in October 1883. Sadly 5 months later in 1884 the Duke, Prince Leopold Queen Victoria's 8th & youngest child, would die after a fall whilst in Cannes #LocalHistory
