Many of the participants and facilitators of today’s session. 15 smiling faces at the end of the day, standing in front of the wall of posters used to generate discussion and learning together.
Wide view of the room, showing half the group. Bas standing holding a poster as Lee explains the concept. Ten people sitting in chairs around the edges of a room with white walls covered in posters, a wooden floor and with doors open and the art park in the background. A centrepiece of a circular cloth with aboriginal design, various objects on it including markers/textas, talking objects, tissues and fans.
Close up of Bas holding the poster with “What is ABCD?” (Asset Based Community Development) and two participants on the left, Ben on the right in the red shirt. The door behind is open with the view of the park, a large banksia tree and rolling hills of lawn.
Day one of Queer Community Building was refreshing and left me feeling enriched by the participants contributions that illustrated the strength of our communities.
